- Pincushions sampler can be purchased from Dropclothsamplers.com
- Embroidery floss, perle cotton size 8
- A few pieces of yarn for couching
- Embroidery needles - Rebecca uses milliner needles
- Backing fabric: wool felt
- Fusible web, such as ShapeFlex to reinforce embroidery
- Hoop, 6-inches
- Rubber fingers or thimbles
- Scissors or snips
- Pinking shears
- Ground walnut shells filling
- Funnel / spoon
- Sewing machine
- Polyfil or other stuffing
- 4-inches of ribbon and a small snap
- Optional: beeswax for threading needles
- Find your supplies at Dropcloth Samplers or Snuggly Monkey
- Stitch two different designs
- Couching stitch, satin stitch, chain stitch, blind stitch, Lazy Daisy
- Construct a two pin cushions or two needle books or one of both
I have just finished the Dropcloth pincushion embroidery and this video gives me the exact instructions to transform it into the two pincushions I am going to make, I will be gifting one to a lovely woman who puts on sewing classes both hand sewing and machine sewing for donation only and has been doing so for many years, I think this is a wonderful thing to do for your community,
She was very direct with her projects and slow so you could follow very closely.
These are really cute. I love Rebecca's classes. It would be nice to know the dimensions of the embroidered piece for those that may not have the pre-printed version.
