For more vibrant results, soak the fabric in a soda ash solution before dyeing. Completely cover the project with ice rather than using just a few cubes. Let it sit 24 hours to get strongest color. Wear a mask when working with powdered dye and/or use in a well-ventilated area. Procion fiber reactive dye from Dharma will produce lovely results. Rit dye from the grocery store will not.
