I loved this class, it was so inspiring and creative, it got me so excited to get started and approach working in my sketchbook in a different way. It helped me be more free and intuitive about filling the pages, it got me over the fear of the blank page and not knowing what to draw or paint. Will definitely go back to re-watch parts for new inspiration in the future!

Have you ever wanted to make something you saw once but couldn't find what you were looking for because you didn't have a name for it? Because you couldn't figure out a name for it? It feels like I've spent ages looking through junk journal videos, art journaling tutorials (which I now adore), and mixed-media journaling pages to no avail. I found some pretty cool stuff but none of it captured me the way those random sketchbook pages I would see now and again did. Rebecca's Magpie sketchbook and more importantly the techniques she teaches is exactly what I've been hoping to learn how to create. I enjoy the wide range of materials used, the numerous art mediums she practices, and the endless layering. Above all, I admire the haphazard nature of each page, which is the antithesis of perfection and my number one reason for wanting to make one of my own. I guess I'll refer to these collections of sketchbooks as a Magpie method when others happen to come across them! Thank you, Rebecca, for the stellar class, I can't wait to dive into your other Creativebug classes soon.

I’d thought it was going to be about sketching, as in drawing. But I did enjoy some of the techniques I can apply to loosening up my approach to drawing as part of my watercolor practice. Teacher obviously loves her subject!
