The pairing of Simplicity and Madalynne Intimates is a match made in lingerie heaven. Designer Maddie Flanigan uses the Simplicity 8711 pattern to show you step by step how to sew a gorgeous set of intimates. The underwire bralette features a monowire for support, housed in an interior frame called a floating bridge. The monowire and bust darts create a bralette that gives exceptional support and shapes without flattening. You’ll also learn how to attach a hook and eye closure and make adjustable elastic shoulder straps. The underwear is sewn in a matching fabric with three tiers of flounces for a glamorous effect.

Pattern: Madalynne X Simplicity 8711 Lingerie Pattern
Ballpoint needle size 12
Coordinating polyester thread
Rotary cutter and cutting mat
Snips
Tape measure
Clear ruler
Odif’s 505 spray

For Bra:

½ yd jersey, spandex, stretch lace or stretch mesh fabric (body)
3/8 yd micro mesh or powernet (lining)
1 5/8” yd of 3/8” wide plush picot elastic
2 ½ yd 3/8” wide shoulder strap elastic
Two 3/8” rings
Two 3/8” sliders
1 yd of 3/8" wide plush channeling
One continuous monowire
Bra hook and eye closure (see pattern for sizes)

For Underwear:

5/8 yd of jersey, spandex, stretch lace or stretch mesh fabric
½ yd of mesh or powernet lining (optional)
¼ yd cotton jersey for crotch lining
2 ¾ yd of 3/8” wide plush picot elastic
