I darn socks frequently. I wasn't sure about making a grid across a hole. It did work out. Another method I tried was a patch from a like sock. I cut off the toe portion of the spare sock and made a custom size for the toe area of the sock I mended. It worked fine. I do this for favorite socks that we don't want to part with! Thank you! I watched this hoping to learn how to darn a sock. However, there was no portion of the class that explained how to darn a sock.
I did find techniques interesting and helpful. I was surprised that knowing how to create a warp and how to weave were a good basis for this. I have been weaving for years. So using the techniques I was able to do a functional darn on a sock that I was then able to wear.
