Join crafting guru and founding member of Austin Craft Mafia, Jen Perkins in making junk journals from paper and ephemera you already have. Jen will walk you through the steps from making a fabric cover, creating a signature and a basic bookbinding stitch all the while making you laugh with her crafty insights and Jen-isms. Best yet, junk jounrnaling gives you some of the tools of bookbinding with the freedom of imperfection and a "just go with it" approach to bookmaking. This is a fun and freeing project for crafters of all ages.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Cereal BoxFabric (larger than one side of a cereal box)
Sheet of Felt (adhesive backed is best)
Tacky Glue
Paint Brush
Hot Glue
Pompom Trim
12-15 sheets of paper (most any kind will work)
Awl or other sharp tool
Waxed Thread (or embroidery floss)
Large eyed needle
Scissors
Additional Extras:

I had forgotten that I had started a junk journal during covid to show our Girl Scouts the book binding badge. I was creating it from my oldest child's kindergarden year full of their artwork. I turned some of the artwork into envelopes. This has inspired me to finish it. Thank you!
