In the over 10 years I've been a Creativebug subscriber, I've never once left a negative review but I have to make an exception this time. I was enjoying the talk until about the 14 minute mark when I saw the AI generated slide displayed. I am so disappointed that Creativebug, a company that celebrates artists and creativity, has allowed Ms Falick to use Gen AI slides and openly talk about using it for research. AI has so many horrible social impacts including (but certainly not limited to) the impact on our environment and climate crisis but also the fact that billionaire-owned companies are the ones profiting off the work they're stealing from artists!! To say I'm disappointed in Creativebug is a massive understatement. I didn't finish the video. I saw that AI generated slide and that was my cue to exit that talk. I really hope Creativebug will rethink their stance and policy on AI use. If there will be more AI-use incorporated into workshops and talks in the future, I won't be sticking around to support that.
